Welcome to Gemma’s Little Friends.
Gemma’s Little Friends is a childminder setting, based in the village of Faygate, West Sussex. We will be operating mainly from a wonderful log cabin at the bottom of my garden, giving the children a designated play space where they can play, learn, explore, and flourish into competent and independent little people. We will enjoy days out to local attractions, including the seaside, National trust gardens, farms, woods and play parks.
Our aim is to create a small nursery style environment with a homely, nurturing feel where each and every child we care for will thrive day by day, whilst becoming confident communicators and competent learners.
Gemma’s Little Friends will be inspired by The Curiosity Approach.
What is the Curiosity approach?
The Curiosity Approach is a beautiful mix of ingredients from our early pioneers & philosophers; Reggio, Steiner, Montessori. With a mix of Te Whariki & a whole heap of CURIOSITY.
This is modern day Approach that fits perfectly in current changing technological times. Bringing curiosity, awe and wonder into early childhood & creating the 'thinkers & doers' of the future.
The curiosity approach requires an environment that is calming and welcoming, full of interesting resources, including authentic, real world items and loose parts to bring out children's natural curiosity. Children use their imagination to create their own play, rather than the toys doing the thinking for them.
Gemma worked with both our children when they were at nursery and although our daughter was not the easiest she had the patience to work with her everyday to help her overcome her issues.

I can 100% recommend Gemma's Little Friends! My little girl has been to two settling in sessions so far and will be starting two full days from next week after her last settling in session tomorrow. It's the first time I've put her in childcare and I feel so lucky to have found Gemma! A mini nursery style setting at childminder prices. Gemma is really lovely and very professional! The cabin is beautiful and my little girl loves going there already. I would say to anyone looking for childcare to go and meet Gemma and snap up a space before they go!
